Toyota Motor Will Build a New Factory in Malaysia

According to news on 17th May, Toyota Motor will build a new factory by using steel produced by high temperature blast furnace in Malaysia. They invest 30 billion yen for a new factory with an annual capacity of 50,000 cars, and the new factory is to be putted into operation in 2018.

Toyota cars have been carried out local production in Malaysia since 1968, the current annual output of small cars “Vios ” (using steel produced by industrial furnace)and pickup trucks “Hilux” is around 80,000. The car production of two local factories are sold in Malaysia.

The new plant will produce small cars and the production is expected to reach 100,000 in the future. The sales volume of new cars was 660,000 in 2015 in Malaysia.

Toyota Motor plans to set up new factory in Guangzhou, China and Mexico in 2017 and 2019.
