Tokyo Gate Bridge Adopt New Type Steel Made By Steel Making Technology

The length of Tokyo gate bridge is 2618 m and new technology was adopted.The usage of steel made by steel making furnace accounted is around 40,000 t for the total weight of the bridge, around 15 000 t (40%) by using new type high-performance steel made by steel making technology- SBHS (steels for bridge high performance structure)

The advantage of SBHS:
1. High strength
2. Improve fracture toughness
3. Improve weldability
4. Improving weather resistance

SBHS adopt TMCP technology, it control the welding crack sensitivity value (PCM) and improve the strength of steel made by blast furnace for steel. Tokyo gate bridge is the World first bridge for adopting welding method to connect component, not by using bolt to connect component.
