At the same time India has rich manganese ore, chrome ore and coal resources, which provides favorable conditions for the development of the steel industry adopting blast furnace working.

Indian steel industry began in the early 20th century. In 2014, India’s crude steel production reached 86.5 million tons, and it is the world’s fourth-largest steel producing countries. Crude steel output(produced by iron blast furnace process) is expected to reach 300 million tons in 2025.
